Scott Ramsey, Easty, #310

We had painted over windows also when we acquired Triton Easty # 310 last year. We have put off the re-coring for next year.

In an effort to reduce leaks and make the windows shine again, we took the windows out of the boat, removed the plexi-glass, brought down the metal frames to the brass with wire brush and steel wool and sandpaper on both sides but not on the interior of each frame which faces the glass on both interior and exterior frame. We replaced the plexi-glass with auto-safety glass at about $17 per large window and under $5 per smaller window. We removed all the 20+ year old caulking with a degreaser/degluer and re-caulked when we put the windows back in the boat. We also re-fiberglassed the two shells of the fiberglass and held them together with large paper clips until they firmed up. Enclosed are before and after pix. The steel wool is the best tool we found.

I have also found that there is a company here in Annapolis that will take any metal object and dip it to remove all glues/paints/gunk from the metal but I'm not sure the pricing on that service. I can get their name and phone if you want.

I also had all 6 of the small windows and the four large portal windows priced out for Chroming on both sides of all windows and screws by a professional and the quote was $1000 altogether. I have that source also if you want.
