The bridgework is to form the thin bottom skin, and all that goes over it, to a nice, taught, even camber. Aldo supports the Nida sandwitch until the epox dries and solidifies the matrix (which actually takes a while when using slow hardener in cold weather--you know how I know!) The plywood is 1/4 inch held up by 5 straight 2 by 4's and jammed into place with sticks. Trial and error to place it just right.
