It took me three years to finally make a table. I wanted to try and build one that was mounted on the bulkhead and dropped down, then pivoted over, then folded out. I finally decided on a simpler approach. The forward end of the table mounts on brackets on the doorway trim. The leg is not permanently attached to the underside of the table--my goal was to have the table lie as close to the bulkhead as possible to avoid losing any sleeping room on the settee. I stained 3/4" plywood and poured clear, resin over a chart and a blueprint of the Triton. Edges were finished with trim. It's strong enough to use as an emergency rudder if needed! There is storage behind the cushion as well. I hate not having enough proper storage on a boat!

I saw a lot of pictures of Tritons with this bookshelf arrangement and thought it was a good idea. And, of course, there's storage behind the cushion.
